Hobby room reorganization

Hobby room reorganization

For years now, I have wanted to re-do my hobby craft room. It was originally a small bedroom with mirrored sliding wardrobe doors, and a small cupboard with very little space to swing a cat. When I started working from home, it was then turned in to my office as well, but with the same wardrobes etc. When leaving work, it became my craft room, and had various orientations and desks to try and make the space work for me.

The most recent change was getting a large 1800mm by 800mm desk, for my drawing and my computer, but unfortunately it also had to house my 42 inch ultrawide monitor and a bookshelf, and so you can imagine it was a little bit cramped to say the least.

This is how it looked a few weeks ago.

My main goal was to remove the wardrobe, and be able to have a seperate desk for each main hobby. One desk for Art, and the other for my computer. Luckily I already had a gaming desk in my loft from a previous room layout.

So I started the task of moving everything out of the room, dismantling the wardrobes, filling all the holes left by the wardrobe, sanding, painting, new carpet and finally moving things back in, but keeping it well organised and neat and tidy.

The result, I couldn’t be happier (although my body is destroyed).

I hope to be making some most excellent artwork going forwards!

Welcome to James Hall Arts, my small space on the internet where I like to display my drawings and paintings that I have created since retiring from the Hussle and bustle of working for the Man.
